I seem to recall there being clauses in the AdSense agreement covering this. I’m not saying you shouldn’t make the adverts blend better with your site – that’s just innocent visual aesthetics. Personally I don’t mind adverts within the post, as long as they are one of the small blocks like you’re currently experimenting with, and as long as you don’t have too many such blocks per post.

I agree with the networking thing. Im a pretty shy guy in person (and even online to an extent), so I never really know what to say to people to get a conversation started.

Yesterday, though, I decided to IM one of my affiliate managers and just introduce myself, say hi, etc. Turns out he is a super nice guy and didn’t waste any time in recommending some high converting offers for my web sites.

I would highly recommend to just start talking to people, the worst that could happen is the ignore you, and you move on.

Its actually quite easy to add an Adsense block inside your post. WordPress actually has a few plugins that will do this automatically. The one I use is “Shylock Adsense”. Type that into Google and give it a try.
